Renaissance Men is a professional vocal ensemble based in Boston created to replicate the multi-talented performers of the Renaissance. Their specific focus is on the wealth of repertoire written throughout the centuries for tenor, baritone and bass voices. The ensemble is comprised of Boston and New York’s most active chamber musicians, educators and music aficionados.
The ensemble, which also refer to itself as RenMen, entertains its audiences with diverse musical choices and multi-talented performances. Concerts programs often include the U.S. and world premieres by internationally celebrated composers. The ensemble has several album releases. They have created an important place in New England’s cultural landscape.
Renaissance Men was the recipient of the 2022 Boston Foundation Live Arts Boston grant for the ensemble’s curation of Renmen, a composition by Sydney Guillaume which explores Haitian music for tenor and bass voices. The composition was created in collaboration with the Boston Children's Chorus.
